This unit is designed for the VW application that originally used a 6 volt charging system. The application must be converted to 12 volt in order for the IMI unit to work. The unit is similar to the IMI-101 but has a larger diameter pinion gear for the 109 tooth flywheel. This unit is a 4.44 to 1 gear ratio and can be re-indexed to suit most applications.This is a 12 volt unit that replaces a 6 volt unit. The application must be converted to 12 volts.
