This is an original Bosch distributor rebuilt by an independent specialist. (Bosch no longer makes or rebuilds these themselves.) It is the correct single vacuum advance distributor for your engine, with the proper advance curve (unlike an 009 style centifugal-advance distributor). As a result your engine timing will be correct both at idle AND under load, which maximizes engine lifespan, performance, and gas mileage. Basically it’s better for your engine, and performs better as well.
